It was a moment of freedom,
possessed before repossessed,
before motives scrambled to get
a seat on the face of a buck, like
Kaufman said in line 10 of a poem,
back when people wrote more poems.

Ginsberg and his ilk could never imagined electronic poetry
and I must say it is a love/hate relationship for me... :?

True (and me too). They did see creeping materialism though, and the Cult of Money.

Confession time: It was late, and I grabbed the huge "Beat Generation" book off the shelf (the one Cecil gave to me a few years ago), and opened it to a random page, and it was Bob Kaufman's poem "Boms." And the first line I saw was line 10 (yes, they had numbers), something about "angry motives scrambling for a seat..." And, well, thank you, Mr. Kaufman! Maybe I'll read his Abomunist stuff at lunchtime ...
