what if i wrote a poem of hope like john

what if i were interesting....
had something to offer beyond vanilla
which is not to say vanilla is a bad thing
but to underscore there is more for the tongue to lap up

what if stacks of suitcases were open
for inspection so we could grasp new concepts
and the spontaneity of truth sung at midnight like a tormented lark
crying out to a single soul

and what if there was never any malice of forethought
and love was acceptance of warts and weirdos
and one could fall into something natural like trees and sky
and awkward barriers poofed into rainbow polka dots

of dust that floated away til they vanished from sight
and you kept your eyes on them the whole time , these
tiny specks of solitary confinement disappearing into the impossible horizon
like skipping stones with perpetual jet propulsion

what if magic mushrooms were the new medicine
and big pharma was relegated to the last resort
and we could all see the immense benefits of oneness
our connection to the souls of plants and animals and fungi and insects

what if the ambient atmosphere was just right
and the sick threw off their smallpox blankets and ate at the same table
what if mud puddles and california smog, and opaque politicians
turned into crystal clear looking glasses so we could all see the solutions, and we acted on them

that is hope....Lennon said you may think that I'm a dreamer/but I'm not the only one...I feel him today...June 28, 2019....like never B 4

Sadly, peace doesn't bring prosperity to the arms merchants, to whom only prosperity can bring peace.... try to work out the Mobius logic of THAT one...
