first there were doodles

first there were doodles
in the margins
and I studied them
for a period of time unknown to me
til they morphed into something
more congealed
scribbles of sand and portland
and water, into this block of experiences
these frozen molecules of stick figures
animated into something enjoyable
and when I look at it that way
I come to think that this is an exercise
in speaking a new language
which might actually be heard
by one soul out there
and wouldn't your mind be blown
as these maimed metaphors
grew some wings, wow
imagine that, simple lines
that could fly off the page...
land on the shoulder of a bored reader
invoking the goddess of healing old wounds
coming into this house
to join hands with the oracle of Delphi
the artistry would be nothing short of magic....
