Sometimes I just go to meetings half asleep because anything I might have to say would resemble “ trailer trash”
When people look at me
I sometimes remember somewhere I was
With Volkswagen car seats on the floor and beer cans
On the floor - ashtrays and bongs - and sloppy people
I loved men with long hair
Even if they were fucking rednecks deep down
Inside that Marlboro man I was determined
To find that cowboy

I guess I did
Cajun
Italian
Surfer
Chemistry gone bad @4
I gave up
Just plain said” I’m not good at this “ and ran for it

I knew about stuff like that
I protected my sister
I had an attitude

I was tall- a model- most people wanted to see me naked

raw truth
acceptance
facets once front and center
now memories only....
we shift
our eyes fail but our mind
sees clearly
it's so easy in retrospect
you know what they say
after the fact your vision is always
20/20

enjoyed the ride

I am so proud of myself
I know that I am not an imposter
Or the poster child of recovery
But these incremental gentle lessons
Bring me peace
The sun is about to go down
I had a blast at jury duty
It is not that hard for me to love anymore
I just do it
I got thin and pretty too
But no one really cares except me about my body and soul but me and my children
And the ancestors are cheering me on
To some divine purpose I cannot see
There is so much to you and to me-
I met so many people today
I think we are -all- the same
Kinks maybe but the engines are running
I heard things that told me to walk this way-
I dunno if there is conditioning that requires you to “ like” everyone and everything
But I’m going to give it my best shot- painting again wee

I Am sponcer to a couple women-
We do this process together
It is lovely and quite spiritual
And um.. you become a really good listener and write - write a whole bunch
It’s a very groovy thing
