The light seemed to ooze from her skin
She shone for me as a hummingbird
Checking up
On me in the morning

The husbands eyes had gone dull
The voices from the past echoed
Grateful he had a new wife, a new liver

My other husband is dead with a tatoo
On my arm- it is as if
I am being protected by love
On both sides of the equation

Somehow that invisible bridge
Has been crossed

Blessed and happy the dog and I walk outside
Where the weather is perfect

At all the worry and fear

The great Mother Earth is holding us dear

really nice
a look back, but not stuck anywhere
it's just a litany of a life
like a million other lives
it's what we do in the moments
of trying to live and feel okay
and if you are lucky, you can
get to a place where you just breathe
and appreciate what you have
and where you are
is okay
it's just fine
