look at the moon
with a million disparate eyes
in december through chilled senses,
we cry like capricorn wolves
laugh like stereotypical hyenas
play like disney otters
interpreted by writer's embellishment,
we dance like insects across the surface
of a hidden pond
on our perky tails,
we assume
mama earth
will always love us

that there will always be
variations of an older poem
con-temporized perhaps by whims of fancy
with kaleidoscope eyes and kinetic muscles,
but words cannot save the lady,
and the words may die along side her
as they fall together into open graves
we dug with our own hands,
not by the average jane or joe
no
by the geniuses with power and money
that believed their technology
could trump her hand,
such fools will surely be.......
