Empty Skyscrapers

From Manhattan to Siliconia,
the skyscrapers sit empty,
and tent ghettos grow.

Shiny steel stalagmites rise,
as shiny alternate truths
far above the haze of us.

Plutocrats and oligarchs
sit this one out, look for
other places to launder.

A glut of vacant luxury
sits high atop homeless ruin.
Mirage of the capital boom.

good imagery and spot on truth
i think we have been imperceptibly conditioned to accept this....
what kind of moral leadership would allow such a thing
skyscrapers just like people are disposable
