Ya got the beat...

Interesting story about Fillmore West's most prolific concert poster artist-- David Singer. A Navy vet from a small town back east, who out of nowhere dropped by promoter Bill Graham's office one day and convinced Bill to look at his art...

One of the truly classic poster artist of the time was Rick Griffin, whose posters are still years later in demand, for a reason.

Check his website - https://www.rickgriffindesigns.com/

BTW : thanks for the link to David Singer! I kept the article... to think I used to have some of his posters :(
Had to sell off so many during a troubling financial period, but it paid of and helped save us. :P

He would be happy to hear that his fine art helped another fine artist to carry on with fine art. I enjoyed reading his story. He had a vision (and technical talent), and said, you know what? I don't care where I've been, it's where I want to go, and after drifting in "Frisco" for awhile he walked into Graham's office and humbly asked him to look at his art, collected in a makeshift binder.
