the woods is my church
and I am devout...
i congregate there often
with maples, oaks, pine
I give thanks to the bees
meditate on the river
my apostles are all squirrel-ly like me
my brethren are avian by nature
my attendance is not assured by fear
I want to go there
we all need a place to give thanks
mine just happens to have no walls
no steeple
yet spirituality abounds just the same
in every wildflower, every rock
every frog

...and 300 miles away
in a different congregation
I attend a different church
of the same denomination
to worship Gaia
the Mother of us all
who despite the ills we've inflicted upon her
loves us
nurtures us
and will ultimately welcome us
home
beneath her soil

those who cherish Nature and Her beauty IS the only true Church for all.

I love the words both SAW and sasha have written, knowing Nature.
