3 chords and a righteous escape

lost and tranquil,
jazz chords like ancient brown sugar
pull you deeper away

the outside world fraught
with its man-made-madness makes a fella
appreciate a riff and tonic

skip the ice

I wanna forget the twisted faces all dressed up
the palooka pundits with nothing to say
the puppet-master big smiles

the bleached-blonde weather-girl

she wears these impossibly fitted dresses
and probably carries a wheelbarrow of resentment
to stay slim as an isobar

orders from headquarters

I have no tolerance for the cable-creep parade
the shit-show corona fear-fest
the terror sells automobiles and alcohol programming

its the crack cocaine for people out of work

I prefer to pull out the old guitar
drift away from the things they offer up as normal
there is no need to get elaborate ya know....

three chords can facilitate many a righteous escape

ahh... music! the savior of the soul... the creator of imagination... mankind's only worthy sound.

Good piece, Steve.

the gift of voice and accompaniment is a natural, a balm for the tortured soul
