doodles on scraps of junk mail,
little faces buy time for the mind
to catch up, participate
the eyes have it
the ones marinating in the gray matter
squirming like Morrison toads......
or any lyric, that knows
the waiting game
'tween mummification and mobility
where sparks ignite cranial monkeys swinging
on vines of disruption
let the fun begin
it's playtime, grab your cerebral toys
your favorite ballpoint pen
and the proper yellow, blue-lined pad
squeeze the streams
between those lines spaced just so
with alacrity and purpose. push the points
into the cosmic dartboard
sting like a thoughtful wasp
soar like a sacred kestrel flying over the macadam....
sure ....you might end up in the junkyard
but buckle up.....buckle down.......enjoy the road trip

"Morrison toad" - made me smile - now I'v got the bloody song stuck in my head. I suppose there are worse earworms. ("Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener....")

Re: doodles on scraps of junk mail
I can relate
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
Re: doodles on scraps of junk mail
I once wrote a whole "chapter" based on nothing but stuff I scribbled on envelopes pulled at random from a stack of unopened (mostly useless) mail.
