dancing on the roof of time

if I were an alien
I'd probably pull the plug
on this failed attempt at humanity
watch the ensuing eddy with disappointment

If I were a roach
I'd be belly laughing
or maybe that should be thorax laughing
down and dirty, like a new beginning

and if I were a falcon
I'd shoot the moon
like an abhorrent NASA launch
find a nice place for a cozy little space-nest

if I were a quark
I'd ascend my subatomic selves
fucking all that crosstown traffic
to accelerate the slow lane to redemption

If i were god
I'd sing a neo-blues song 'bout a life of trouble and woe
and experiments gone terribly wrong
I'd sing with guttural power and slide guitar

'bout lost dogs, lost women
mean bosses and too little money
to even pay attention
I'd sing about missed opportunities and diminishing air

if I were hopeful
I'd dance on the roof of the house
and worship the sun coming up
just like it has for as long as I can remember

'scuse me
while I get the extension ladder
'scuse me
while I kiss the sky

You're on a roll. I caught a bit of Dino vibe in this one. I love the bit about god singing about lost dogs, lost women and mean bosses. Maybe, just maybe, wherever you go in "the cosmos," it's the same blues song...

Ahh.. that get-away word, "if" takes us 'from" heading to that zany "there"
where we let it all hang out.... boushka and torment, fillio to and zemo
we readjust to a safe "asemic" to mind the mind, we find an outlet
squeezing the latterbus to charge ahead, mister grandise the hooligan
at the wheel, such a big deal, I feel like falling into a kneel to pave the prayers
twenty three miles ago. Let it go, let it go, let it go bleepers and all

(secluded into the silence created by stillness in the waltz of tormet's jazzieness...)

Many thanks, SAW, for igniting me with your words today... I needed this kind of write from wrong.
