The heat rises off the black pavement
The smell of tar and dust and exhaust
Certain that the heart beats invisible
Beneath your skin
hear it like a drum- the pulsating hum
Of life here
How that is today
Space that captures the soul
Waiting for
Something more
Listening
The breeze flows through
curtains softly dancing
Inside the way of love
The path is often narrow
Songs of happiness unveiled
Things that seemed important
Sprawled out of the purse
That carries tokens and coupons
Lipstick and gum
Know that all these words get under our skin
That somehow makes colors brighter
Laughter louder
Than usual

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
