tomorrow I'm going.........................
gonna make some big changes,
acknowledge the clarity
in the folly of my cumbersome truth,
but not today

today is a time of striking reflection
counting shadowy life lines
in the eyes of impending storms,
a day to break away from
the latent kudzu that has crept around my ankles

tomorrow I'll set out
on a courageous new path, toss aside
the rusty chains of old habits,
make a simple downshift
to the slow world of blissful contentment

today is a day for planning
a day to line up all the ducks in rows
a day to imagine the lovely face of metamorphosis,
revel in the smile of her awaiting brilliance,
it will all be there in the dreamy company

of tomorrow

I know it well. (Tomorrow is always today.)
