scraps of discolored paper
jotted thoughts
of little consequence
piled up like forgotten callender's
in a forgotten corner .....
disjointed phrases
from a life like no other
each crazy idea unremarkable yet unique
every hour like another layer of paint
on a weathered windowsill .....
I shuffle the words
like a deck of latent dreams
convinced there is meaning
in these moments of recorded reflections
I try to weave coherency .....
an old man with questionable eyesight
lays out his life on an old formica table
beseeches his withering mind
asks her nicely, for just one more poem
one more chance.....to say something
anything
one more poem
one more poem
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
