there will always be something new
something to hype, something
to wash the brains of former thinkers
once there was blueberry pie, freshly baked
cooling on grandma's windowsill, Now
it's deep fried ice cream with Mexican hot chocolate sauce
and chipotle-avocado doughnut holes
and the shock of the new, well
nothing really culturally shocks anymore
thunderstruck is now being tased by a cop
