we look at the solid

we tackle that thing
that tempts us, that emotion
with four heads, sixteen tongues
that wag of the ass sashaying by,
trees with branches that wave
like fingers wiggling on the side of the nose
taunting understanding
she came and went before I could........
the impossible task
part of something big
something that cannot be quantified
cannot be dissected
to get the whole story
we look at the solid
coyly....as if the atoms aren't dancing
the mambo of life
the cha cha of change
nothing is sedentary enough
to get a good look
though we are groomed to try
and the question may be,
are our measuring instruments
obsolete before we are finished looking
