I can try, but am basically a luddite that know how to posts poems.....I'm not into technology much....having said that I may be able to be coached...haha.....oh yeah, don't have much patience either for troubleshooting....I'm a woods kind of guy
Well, if it fails, there's still your visual art. And if it doesn't, there's also your visual art!

yup. then whoever is doing the assembly can just right-click on the link, select "open in new tab", and it will download to their computer as well. I just tried it to make sure.

okay, so shall we divide the poem into segments?
first things first.
24 lines. It would be good to have Cecil start it off (shades of Perfect Day with Lou Reed and those amazing collaborators)
six people - 4 lines each or looking at the logical break points. will check it out later.

Time to get this show on the road.
back later today - it's already Saturday in the hood and school's out for Passover vacation.
Thanks, Cecil for stimulating collaborative thought.

I don't think I will be able to contribute....on my PC I don't seem to have a built-in mic.....then I remembered my daughter gave me a tablet when i had my heart surgery and a headset with a mic.....but after an hour, I couldn't figure it out...the biggest problem is I don't understand the terminology....I tried watchin various tutorials....got steered to game bar on the HP tablet with Windows and keep getting error message when I tried to practice a recording...So maybe given my very limited skills, I think I should pass on this

Boy, do I understand your frustration about the terminology. I once struggled for half a morning with GIMP (an open-source alternative to PhotoShop), and without any understanding of chromatic aberration, gamma correction, or the distinction between hue & saturation, I was lost. I'll be recording my assignments on a hand-held digital recorder, & then uploading the file to my ancient HP-refurb desktop. Any chance you could do something along those lines? I'll probably be hitting you up for scans of some of your visual artwork, regardless - I'd like a shot at turning this into an AV project.

I'm a dunce when I consistently have tried to bring voice into the arena. It's not the voice captured that's my ptoblem, but converting it to other sites like S8 or others.

How are you recording yourself?
Do you have zoom downloaded on your computer, Cecil?
If so, I could invite you to a zoom meeting, which gets recorded and grab you reading!

We could zoom each bit and then join them together.
It would be a folksy kind of clip, and why not. Unless we have a filming/editing pro in our midst?

This one, judih .... I found it. Let’s test audio uploads... someone create a short audio file and upload it as an attachment and see if it still works. Our audio player is no longer installed unfortunately. But if an upload works, we can make a thread to upload all the people reciting and Sasha can download them to his computer to edit it all together.

I’m sorry guys... I can’t even remember how to record an audio file right now. I think I can use my phone but I’ve never done it... I’ll figure it out

If we have a smart phone, we should be able to record an audio file!

I’d love to be a part of this and recite a couple of lines. And you’re welcome to use any of my photos or artwork.

It’s fabulous that Sasha has volunteered to assemble this project! Wonderful! Thank you! I’ve been in retirement mode for a while now... but I will gladly participate!

Let’s test an audio file upload and see if it works. Thanks!

Great! That works fine Sasha! We can record our reading parts and upload them here on this thread, then you can download to your computer and assemble them! Yay! I’m excited.
