disturbing dreams fall like California ash
the Mid Atlantic sky ablaze with truth
unmoored and tossed about like the spring games
of April when they tend to dominate the narrative
I forgot my gloves in my haste to heal
the morning forced my hands into my pockets
you keep popping up like little sparks of white light
in the eyes of a puma stalking my memories
then just as quickly disappear into an ancient sunset
in Key West when I bought that stained glass rose
from a little shop that went under, gone like a ghost
like a puzzle piece of evaporated time
the thin air is fact not fiction
and I am whole
