Electric mountain bike? What kind of newfangled tomfoolery is that? Hobnail boots were good enough for our brutish ancestors, they're good enough for me.

You can only hold that opinion because you have never ridden one. - I gotta tell ya, Roy, you would love-love-love it. Every hill flattened, every headwind tamed - you just don't know what you are missing. Check it out.

to the Sasha: we all live our paths, some motorized, some lower-teched. It's good. But some modern change can be uplifting. Me? I prefer pedalling (Canadian spelling) my bike, but I've never tried electric.

Uhh - guys - I was just bustin' the Mingo's balls - no disapproval intended. Shoulda used one of those smiley thingies, I guess..... Hey, Doreen - can you expand our bandwidth to include "tone of voice"?

guilt = repression of human joy
as in: Oh no, i feel happiness!

I think it was HL Mencken who defined Puritanism as "the haunting fear that somewhere, someone was having a good time"

haha! hmm.

p.s. This afternoon, I read my poem at the Southern Voices Poetry Meeting (we meet by Zoom, including people from the very north of the country). They liked it!
So, thanks, people for giving me a reason for revealing my secret non-haiku side.

I'm glad you did. I hate causing offense - unless I intend to. Which I did not.
