Trupple the Mupple

Post by mtmynd » June 5th, 2021, 1:51 pm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
trupple the mupple
the sudsy bubble
the winds no longer rise
and now the trouble
picking thru rubble
disturbing sleeping lies
synagogues
sin of gods
rabbits parrot past
pass the carrot
feed the ferret
vultures pray too fast
collared dogs
cholera fogs
fears speaking so well
read the book
catch the hook
tears tracing to hell
constipate
regurgitate
spit on evil done
smell a rose
grab a hose
darkness on the run
edge the hedge
raise the sledge
hammer truth to rock
slide the side
slit the hide
heart is sure to balk
trupple the mupple
the sudsy bubble
bursts from pressure round
falls and slips
turns to drips
crashing without a sound
upon the peak
a voice does speak
words beyond the grasp
hear silence scream
thru midnight steam
trupple the mupple
the sudsy bubble
the winds no longer rise
and now the trouble
picking thru rubble
disturbing sleeping lies
synagogues
sin of gods
rabbits parrot past
pass the carrot
feed the ferret
vultures pray too fast
collared dogs
cholera fogs
fears speaking so well
read the book
catch the hook
tears tracing to hell
constipate
regurgitate
spit on evil done
smell a rose
grab a hose
darkness on the run
edge the hedge
raise the sledge
hammer truth to rock
slide the side
slit the hide
heart is sure to balk
trupple the mupple
the sudsy bubble
bursts from pressure round
falls and slips
turns to drips
crashing without a sound
upon the peak
a voice does speak
words beyond the grasp
hear silence scream
thru midnight steam
freedom rings at last!
hear the boom, boom, boom
as the bells wake the dying
Steve, are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?
Another Studio8 spoken word compilation?
I'm in!
I'm game - be nice to get more than two contributors, though (hint hint)
roy, so steve's a little busy.
doreen had problems recording with her phone.
you and i are using audacity with a mic - a good method and easy to convert to MP3.
So, who else at the Studio is familiar with audacity?
Or - do you want to ask the folks at the Electrolounge Cafe - Raymond Soulard, Jr's site. There's a group of spoken word types over there.
I could ask. What do you think?
I'd say Steve is more than a little busy, with high-priority items...
I record with a dedicated digital audio recorder, a Tascam DR40. Then I upload the WAV file(s) to my computer via USB, so that's another way to store audio. (I use Audacity for post-processing, like mixing, audio compression, & editing. Great program.)
right. So i've got one less step than you. Using a samsung mic plugged into the computer - audacity as my platform and then cleaning it up a bit within the programme.
Let's hope others will climb aboard.
I'll get back to you on that...
I've succeeded my limits and have switched to seagate storage.
Until they do, let's you & I record ourselves (you go first, so I can match my cadence to yours), and I'll interleave the stanzas the way I did with Darque 9. If anyone else does the same, I'll use their readings as well.
I've downloaded & played the audio, & hear some kind of phase distortion, kind of like what you sometimes hear in radio interviews broadcast via satellite - like reverberation, but not quite. Hard to describe unless you're an audio engineer, which I most definitely am NOT. I might be able to reduce it with a little selective EQ, but I haven't the time today to do much with it. If you have the time, maybe you could re-record it in an acoustically dead space; or even outside. (Be easier than hanging blankets on all your walls!)
I will have some time tomorrow afternoon, either to play around with your recording or to make one of my own. Speaking of the latter - I had an idea I'd like to bounce off (all of) you. When recording "darque 9", I thought it important to match my cadence to yours - I tend to rush my speech to the point of stuttering. But this is a much longer piece, & might benefit from some stanzas taken at a stroll, others at a trot. Maybe? I dunno, this is more your area of expertise than mine........
