Upon a Time...

Post by mtmynd » September 3rd, 2021, 11:04 am

Ancient Waters, New Rivers

Modernity at war with the past
those that remain with that past
shall die with memories of times
when forefathers ruled the world.

Times when legends were gospels
passed down to each generation
as if their ways of life were sacred
...to be strictly, religiously followed.

As the world continues to shrink,
into the smallness of a New Age,
peaceful survival reliant upon change,
that change being equated with growth.

To assimilate the ideas and ideals
of the past, to create a new world
more fitting for all its inhabitants
whispering their needs immediately...

This electronic age sparked the revolution -
the digital speed of words and deeds
flashing across the monitored screens
speaks the mutual tongue of mankind.

We all are but lonely people traversing
each and every moment seeking to find
our own buried treasures within,
along routes traveled by others.

The new age offers free ways,
supersonic flights across lines
mapped by past necessities for
rulers that once controlled in isolation.

How futile to continue the monotony
of yesterdays monologues preaching
from but one book, one philosophy,
one reign, one government...

The past has passed -
new vistas lie ahead
the only obstacles are
the illusive barriers
put up in words from
those days long ago.

Those conditioned by
their past stifle themselves
by not allowing inevitable
change and growth to occur...

They cheat themselves and
their families from achieving
those yet dreamed of tomorrows,
eager to unify this one world,

A world united under peace,
rich in the abundance of love,
where the hopes and dreams
of mankind have fought and died

On the battlefields of ignorance,
stretched across time immemorial;
the past must desist for how long,
while humanity remains in fear,

Which once was instead of savoring
the richness of Now… never ending
Now without the vagaries of the past
without the stresses of tomorrows…

Ancient Waters changing,
New Rivers for the sake
of Life's many Mysteries
for Mind to comprehend.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Breathe in… Breathe out
Breathe in… Breathe out
First breath to Final breath
As life does to simply Be
a sunday stream on a saturday morning, as my thoughts turn to the idea of daily embodiment of the idea that one human being is not the center of the universe. We are all beholden to one another, to our planet, to all living creatures. It's not me want, me take, me no care. It's I am but a single spark in a huge cosmos. How i find a place, i must leave it well-cared for. How i find another, i must do no harm, but live and embolden life.
Such a simple way of surrendering past indoctrinations of consumerism and greed. So very simple.
or am I deluded?
Deluded you are not, judih... but wishful you are. Wishful we all are at times when we think all is easier than before... easier when we were younger.
I find the older I am, the wishes are more see-through... the knowledge of reality more direct, i.e. the games we play weaken, holding honesty and truths within where we find what we need to know making our journey easier...
selfishness runs rampant
especially it seems in the USA
where the country is split down the middle
Fear is the guiding principle
the Right fears everything is being taken form them
their freedoms, their white supremacy
and they are scared of anyone that isn't just like them
they believe everything is a conspiracy of some kind aimed at their liberty
and "the way things were "
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
That's the same problem I see... fears... what will we do without them?
