Happy Thanksgiving

Post by saw » November 24th, 2021, 2:44 pm

early appointment at Wilmer Eye Clinic
my son arrived at eight this morning,
and we negotiated all the corridors,
escalators, elevators and stairways

Matthew assisted with communication
and we soon learned there are no problems
with my visit today other than the six dollars for parking,
six dollars to rest my vehicle on your long-ago-paid-for concrete !

And I am home now drinking
'Breathe Easy" tea munching on a chocolate chip cookie
thinking about all the things to be thankful for
tomorrow, and always

I found out today I have healthy retinas
and I have a cup of piping hot tea on this nippy morning
and I have snacks, a blank pad of paper
and this Pilot G2 ballpoint pen with bold black ink

and so much more.....
Happy Thanksgiving S8
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

congrats on the eye exam - the eyedrops (and cannabis) seem to be holding the glaucoma at bay - whatever I did to my hip on Sunday's hike seems to be healing up - after a day or two of rest I'm walking easily on my own, even cut my own toenails today. The cane is just my support animal. Stocked my fridge today, I love to cook, gonna jam tonight with audio books: maybe Algernon Blackwood, maybe HP Lovecraft, maybe EF Benson, or the great Shirley Jackson... who knows what dark caverns my whims will lead me down?

Yeah, man - life is good. My very best to my extended family here at the 8th Studio....

thankful to read your skilled syllables
see your fabulous images
staying in touch with poet family
always thankful, we don't do Thanksgiving Day over here on the kibbutz. Bet the wandering peacocks are thankful, as well.

Here's to being thankful every day we wake up
and are well enough to type a little on Studio Eight
forget the Grateful Dead, we are alive ,and sometimes even Kickin"

Trying to remember what year Thanksgiving fell on November 22nd which was the day one ex-marine with a rifle changed the f****** world

and my rose of San Antone laying on her deathbed looking into a mirror as I sat there and listened to her death rattle but I don't want to go into all that David Copperfield crap but you punched so many buttons from my childhood with your poem thank you for writing it :D 8) thinking about the Wilmer Clinic where I went with my Rose of San Antone. First time we went to the Hopkins she has really spooked by that giant marble statue of Jesus in the main lobby. We never went in that way again.
...well anyway I was going to the clinic because when I was just a little jackster maybe about 5 a dog bit me in the eye and tore some muscles. and left me cockeyed, They had a magic machine that restored binocular vision.
I am most grateful to Rose and crazy Mike for the gift of life. I have even come to being grateful for the Ashkenazi genes they gave me. My family was where I made my first friends.
And grateful to dp- and jh for the friendly family of Studio Eight.
Thanksgiving Day and every things okay on studio eight
sorry I was editing on the fly even if wireman used o say first thought best thought
