that's all I can say

Post by saw » January 9th, 2022, 10:46 am

the music went away
like a disillusioned lover
never to be heard from again,
in the literal sense, but my poetry
still has notes that are so familiar,
that linger between the lines
on my tongue, on the playing field

lyrical memories to sing about
like a custom soundtrack you know so well
Hell....You Are !
It belongs to only you....you
created it for the road-trip that
you call a life, to suit your desires...
you locked it away like old love stories
to be released when the time called

I dance now without any volume
but I move my hips and my mind the same way
It's there for me when I dig down,
below the perceived ground in a waterproof box
....the Music, has morphed into once unimagined stories
to be spun by a man with no ears, but
a pen instead, and paper scraps just as before

I tap out the tempo on this table
one hand flat with rhythm. the other
full of black ink that guides the new paths
across the altered pages of my emerging life....
I am well beyond sadness
I am well beyond loss......
I am simply a new man
that's it...that's all I can say about this
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I am fascinated by you - your painting and writing- this is eloquently quite sweet
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
