the city breeze strokes my face
and reminds me it's good to be here,
right here...alive and well enough
to jot down my fleeting thoughts,
that touch me much the same way
as the warm air, notions accompanied
by a chorus of birds, and my mind
takes flight into the upper regions
of a gray, blue, and white painting hovering
above me
my book however is motionless
sitting there on the patio table
waiting to to be fondled I imagine
though I'm not sure what would make me
think that, I guess I'd like to believe
we have this symbiotic attraction for one another....
meanwhile I write my thoughts as the come to me
hoping that I'm thinking poetically.....
masterfully
but braced for the fact when I read it all back
it may be merely drivel, just drooling nonsense
rolling down the chin of an old man
sitting outside nursing a warm Pilsner...
waiting to be electrified a bit, but there are no
storm clouds, or fallen wires on the ground,
no its just another afternoon daydream
of something more, something authentic,
something worthy and beautiful enough
to talk about
