God bless the Market.
Let it blow its bubbles
and pray to the gods of
profit and sacred greed,
Amen.
God Bless the Free Market
Re: God Bless the Free Market
It gives me chills when folks personify things such as, The Market......it suggests a godlike entity.....I feel the same way when once pledges his loyalty to, The Party

The Corporation -- hastening another mass extinction? In some ways it's just another organism on earth that may or may not adapt and survive, depending more heavily this time on how its relationship to/with its host(ess) evolves...

Re: God Bless the Free Market
Btw, this is from some ranting I did ten years ago (let's call it, say, "leftist" or "Marxist" in step with the Rightwing rhetorical fashioning of our current climate), reflecting on the last big crash and its "bubbles." It's a condensed snippet... The original had more stuff in it, like...
Rows of half-built houses whistled dry wind.
There was some sort of crash, feels like the big one.
The big house of cards after an orgy of drunken debt.
We'd be down to cowpokes riding in ghost-burbs, and
a screen would still flicker and mumble markets,
oblivious to their wreckage, a delusional patient.
God bless the Free-market, myth that I love.
Let is Bubble us and correct us.
Greed is light, it's your right from Above.
Et Cet. You get the gist...
