once upon a time

once upon a time,
oh such a classic beginning
why try to improve on greatness
but I digress....once upon a time
words tumbled
like loose rocks under a hiker's boot
cascading down the poetic mountain.....
now they prefer to hide
in forgotten lairs in the dark
hibernating
so deeply, I don't really know if they
will ever wake up again
But I sit here in the garden
like a believer that encourages
small miracles, I am patient
and I am a Patient.......Alive..............
so for today, I try to summon
just a few choice nuggets
of being poetic.....Ha Ha Ha
my thoughts
will have to suffice
until the real words escape the caves
are unearthed by turbulence, and
I'm OK with that.....
a patient patient patiently waiting.......
waiting to see what's next
