Nazism, she insisted, had to do with something more innate. "Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi," Thompson wrote. But those driven by fear, resentment, insecurity, or self-loathing? They would always fall for fascism. "It's an amusing game," she concluded. "Try it at the next big party you go to."

We're either going to do some semblance of democracy or we ain't. It's really that simple.

simple as a kaon
while her guitar gently weeps
we satiate ower writing compulsions
with visions of the good road and
thanks for writing i need to read

beats me how it will go down as a Greece or a Rome
Maybe if we are lucky Canada will invade us and take over.

One of the quotes that I still remember from the first Litkicks run is: "Canada is extra parking for the US," or something like that. Posted by a Canadian, I think.

I forgot his name too. I think he was a Canadian naval officer.
Do you ever wish that we lost the war in 1776?
We could of been Canadians.

Yeah. He's still kicking and painting and hiking, etc. Good guy. panta rhei (anemone) met him in Western Canada and she concurs!

I think it was someone else, not Knip, can't remember the username. What a great time for awhile, until the internet died...
