Proverbial Pit

Post by saw » March 25th, 2023, 10:38 am

the willow is willowing with flair
the sun peaks through now and then
as traveling-in-a-hurry clouds
dominate my perspective

can't help but wonder sometimes
how many more times
I have left to stare into the face of the sky
and dream, covered in earth's blanket

for now, I'll just kick back
slurping up all of my surroundings
and swallowing it all the way down
to that proverbial pit

that place where sensations bump
and grind in the core of all my experiences,
where everything a man can possibly feel,
is felt......and appreciated
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I hear ya
kind of like waiting in line
at a deli
where the numbers called aren't sequential
but random
ours could be called anytime
or not
so might as well enjoy the view
in the meantime

Beautiful
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

So its hurry! hurry! Step right up
It's a matter of life or death
The sun is going down
And the moon is just holding its breath
Song by Chris Knight

I force down my growing sense of panic. I watch too much daytime tv with those ads for final expenses, "Don't leave your loved ones with the burden of your debts". I know death pays all expenses What I don't want to leave them is a mess to clean up. 81,81,81,81 that NUMBER KEEPS REPEATING IN MY HEAD. SAINT PETER DON'T YOU CALL me BEFORE I CLEAN UP MY ACT.
THANKS FOR WRITTING .
PARDON THE EXPRESSION BUT I THANK G_D, FOR YOUR POETRY 8)
