Fading to Gray

Post by saw » May 29th, 2023, 10:56 am

I saw this enormous bumblebee
dancing around the columbine
tasting his way to nirvana I guess,
through this life with aplomb
and aviator's grace

two perched crows seemed
to admire his skill, his talent
his flitting routine
then they took off towards the lake
their blackness faded to gray
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

There we go. A striking moment relived and reimagined.

Reminds me of the "fade to gray" I sometimes marvel at-- that twilight-dusk time when the world is shrouded in an ashen sort of shade that can't really be described or painted.
