I doodled in the margins
poetic utterances with little faces
eyes unsteady as the nimbus cloud's journey
their peculiar expressions, their little arms and legs
and I waited for rain

ideas that would drench me
soak me to the point of no return
where I could leave the margin call
and slip between the blue lines
and connect the universe to something worthy

this is the exercise routine of a wannabe poet
stalling with drawings of creatures , doodlemen
doodles upon doodles, the precursor to language
doodles from top to bottom
when the thunderstorm arrives with gifts

I love those spiritual ones

Yes I've seen that. It all seems to start with doodles, in my case, scribbled notes in spiral notebooks years ago when I was on the road.
