hanging my a thread
dangling in confoundment
heart murmurs, soul too tired
the walls are too close

the room has gotten smaller
since you left us
too heavy to push back into place
in any meaningful fashion

all I do is wonder
will you go on another walk
will we feel your beauty

Not knowing is the worst. If we knew she's alive & well, or even just hanging on, we could justify hope & find some kind of peace. If we knew otherwise, we could mourn and start to move on. As it is, healing of any kind is on indefinite hold. It's a wound that just won't heal.

I was going to send her an IM on the 7th, broaching the subject of another collaborative poetry reading. The text file still sits on my desktop, a constant reminder of what almost was - what might yet be - what could have been or what still could happen...... or not.... Time will tell - won't it?
