Wednesday Morning

Post by saw » April 2nd, 2024, 10:42 am

the scalpel waits
sanitized and shiny
tomorrow the surgeon
washes his hands
I hope
the carotid needs to be scraped out
de-plagued
my son arrives at 5am
and away we go
to see stainless steel tables
and I will take a nap on one
I hope I have good dreams
and the pain meds are righteous
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

godspeed, old man -
surgery has come a long way
from those long-ago days
that we called its practitioners "sawbones"...
may your sleep be deep
may your nurses be kind and gentle
(and not offended by a little flirting)
may your stay be brief
and your roommate quiet
and the experience rich enough
to fertilize the creative soil
within your heart -
godspeed!

Ohh it’s tomorrow! I’ve been thinking of you, knowing this procedure was coming up. You are so lucky your son is there for you and luckier still that they found the blockage and can clear it!

I’ll be here thinking positive thoughts and praying to the Universe for your thorough recovery!

❤️❤️❤️

pump on through to the healthy side
I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach 10,000 stars how not to dance.

I'm home
can't turn my head much
so no driving the car for a few weeks
but the blood is flowing
to my my poor little brain again
haha
the wonders of modern medicine
had great nurses
oh, I do love nurses
especially the one holding my hand
went I went under
just taking Tylenol now
but had oxy, fentanyl and dilaudid
yowser
but there was a lot of pain
I couldnt move in my bed
with all the monitors....
had a catheter in my hand measuring
every single heartbeat......and an ekg
and oxygen monotor, blood pressure monitor
you name it
and they did nuerolgical tests on me
every hour
"touch your finger to your nose"
etc etc etc
On Friday I start new cancer drug
the old one gave up on me
yes, I've relapsed
So on we go
a New Challenge !!
I'm up for it !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
