What if the Democrats had Never Sold Out?

What if they hadn't done wars,
like they said they were against?
What if they hadn't been smug?
I see a lot of red on that map,
and I will keep on going there
because I live in United States.

I think the US public sold out by voting for a liar like Trump... Especially the "fickle" gen Z crowd. We supported Ukraine and Israel and I have
no problem with it. I am irked by the right wing government in Israel though. We can't permit Putin to take over Ukraine.
I am proud that we support NATO.
In two years, the public will come back to the Democrats because they'll realize their mistakes. Red states, I am afraid, are going to be here
for a while like they were with Reagan. Should be a theme for general discussion, not poetry/

All of the above. Trump supported Israel too, yet Harris got "abandoned" by Palestinian voters and no one remembers more than 2 or 3 freakin years ago. It's all effluence at this point and I'm effing tired of all this back and forth so-called Biblical war-making bullshit. Evolve, people!

Yes the smart brain, or maybe the wise brain, remains at least lip-service important, though it seems to be fading into the desert at times at this point.

Thanks for asking. I have almost lost my sense of humor. I need your poetry more than ever. Thank you for keeping on.
That bit about a cat's memory is from my
bubbie. That was one of her favorite sayings.
For some reason when I think of her I think of Gertrude Stein.

This was a stupid "premise" for a "poem." Both sides sold out long ago, it could be cogently argued.

I always loved that photograph. Thanks Jack for keeping me grounded, in touch with earth. And the road too! Which is just earth moving beneath wheels..

Always. Earth beneath wheels. The Democrats (as hopelessly irrelevant as that particular tag and the two party system remain) didn't do anything much different than Republicans (an equally irrelevant tag), yet they keep blaming each other. Why are we okay with this? There's always been some sniping around elections, but now it's turned into this full-time faux existential thing where One Side must "save the country" from the "Other Side" and you know what? That will never be accurate, nor will it ever work. I officially call bullshit, as if I hadn't already called it before.
