tangled webs
of existence
wrapped in horrible
cellophane,
unable to free my arms
my mind,
my faith in humanity....
once reasonable avenues
of safe travel
blocked by insane maniacs
sadistic highwaymen.....
as a new world emerges
like razor blades
slicing open anything decent,
my mind unable
to accept, relax, pretend
this is just a two bit dystopian novel
unable to
convince myself everything will be okay

the new brown shirts
running amok

this time they've got bank accounts...
how will the ages view this?
as a dark turning point
or just another sad chapter,
a wrong turn, a misstep
eventually recognized and corrected?
either way,
future history
is our Now
and it's about all we can do
just getting across to the other side
