frightening times
who might might turn you in
somehow we have to keep
love alive

there are a few dark thoughts
i keep locked in a cage in my basement
not for fear of disapproval
from my internet acquaintances -
but of reprisal
from any lurkers with their ears pressed to the door

Knowing you are not wrong
Keeps the song
Sung loud
Worried of what may be
Is lessened by
The beauty of all that can be
Found
