Now that the World is worth Billions and Trillions

Now that the world is
suddenly worth money,
does a Christian sort of
religion make sense?

There are passages
in the Bible of taking
control and dominion
because God said so,
and as far as I can tell
and I'm not very smart,
that seems a problem.

Yet here we are after
world war centuries
and fuzzy millennia
under stars in deep
space, still bent,
toward greed and
collective suicide.

Compare that with
the words of Christ.
I'm no scholar, but there
seems a disconnect.

And a reasonable review
might simply conclude
that we don't appreciate
the gift, or even hate it.

the "thou shalt nots" have gotten a little old fashioned and ill used, maybe they need some ammendments.

might I suggest this modest start:

Thou shalt not get caught.
Thou shalt not acknowledge past sins.
Thou shalt not speak truthfully, lest thee be thought fallible.
Thou shalt not pay any tribute that those of lesser means can be coerced into paying.
Thou shalt not abide those who cannot serve you in some capacity.

Trying to figure out the end game here. All anyone seems to be capable of telling me lately is that "we win and you lose." How nice.

The world is priceless.
There’s no end game.
It will continue forever
With or without us.
Birds, frogs, cats, dogs.
They’ll all keep on singing.
Stevie Wonder could see that.
Don’t worry so much.
Let it go.

You're right. It will continue forever in some form, even after the sun burns out. I should write more actual poetry. Seems I've mostly been onto confessionals and venting of late...
