we were eating marijuana brownies,
me and New York Joannie
who wanted to now be called Fannie
since she left her corporate life
way up north in the big city
along with her husband and her dog,
and we drove that spacey Mercury
around the lower Keys looking for
a unified theory of light and sound,
for a harmonius funk to beam us up,
she was hitchhiking and wanted to expeience
it all...in one day...apparently
when we ended up at my place on the beach
we tore that bedroom to shreds
like a couple of long lost shipwrecked survivors
and when I woke up the next morning
She, Joannie or Fannie, and my Nikon camera
were gone.

betrayal sucks - a camera's just a thing, a replaceable unit indistinguishable from other units - but trust has to be built. I've never badmouthed my ex to our daughter (at least i don't think I have) - but she's told me things that suggest she knows what really went down
