it's not a measure of health
to become perfectly adjusted
to a profoundly sick society
I need a new word for surreal
'cause the old one has face-planted
like a bad metaphor on open mike night
when the hecklers are hungry
the news is a B-Minus movie
bad acting, bad production
and the one percenters went All-In
and the poor slobs left at the table
can't match their bet if even we all
pool our money, the politicians
are tagged for quick sales, as in
disregard irregularities
so are the judges in blackened robes
with pure silk hoods with eye-holes
and the el supremo court ends up
as a school of barracuda
at the top of the food chain
and we all lay down our precious hearts
thinking our flush will help us out
and the ringmaster of ceremonies
declares , sorry one king wins this hand

Well, the whole thrust since the "Reagan revolution" (of which this "king" is a direct descendant) is that good old-fashioned Ayn Randian greed is good-- not only good, but essential, because Capitalism with a capital "C" can't exist any other way; it has to keep expanding and consuming... So, our "representative government?" ... Right. There's much irony in what's going on now. So many folks were convinced that this "king" was going to fix all of that. (Even Marjorie Taylor Greene is like "wtf?" at this point.)
