we give names to things
and to each other to remember
God named Adam
Adam named Eve
our parents named us
we named our children
To Remenber
To Remenber
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
Re: To Remenber
It seems that's always been a part of our gift: naming things. It's been amazing to me how thru time we were given that gift of life and language.

Re: To Remenber
Mingo!! You’re here! Yay!
Yeah that’s a good analysis. That’s why we name people.
My daughter changed her name and so did my son. Their first names, not their last names. I guess they’re like nicknames accept nobody knows their birth names anymore. Except me. Maybe they wanted me to forget them.
Hah! Joke’s on them. It didn’t work. I remember who they are.
And I remember you too. I hope you’re doing well! Long time no see.

Re: To Remenber
My daughter (Rebecca) decided to go by her middle name (Diane) all throughout 1st grade. It caused some confusion when she decided to switch back, but her teachers felt it was important that she have some say about establishing her own identity. (Rebecca, BTW, came from one of her mother's ancestors - Rebecca Nurse, who was hanged for witchcraft in Salam MA back in the 1600s)
