Swallow Me Whole
Cease the lease
on the piece
of my heart that you stole
because
I had to pay the toll
to the expressway to your heart
where you ran me down
and tore me apart
hit and run aint fun
bitch
so
cease the lease
on the piece of my heart you stole.
After all
I tell myself its just a hole,
so bury me deep
within you.
Changelings
She appeared to be perfection
normal and complete
a baby dresses in pink
neatly tucked within folded blankets
but the crease was creased wrong
and the evil fairy’s song
left a ringing in her ear.
They left her here to promote the fear
but who believes in fairies good or bad
and a changeling growing amongst us
purely make believe
she the cutest thing
a beauty left to grieve.
Tidal waves of confusion
sensory intrusion
nothing familiar in a world so distorted.
The right run along divine lines,
evil should have been aborted
and treason breaks the bond of man.
She grows afraid of the shadows
coming to reclaim her
more afraid than the humans
thinking she belong among them.
She is an outcast cast out
abandoned in a race of unforgiving beings
proclaiming their just and caring ways .
She wishes she’d never been born,
she wishes she was dead,
then she realizes
she’s not that much different.
Like thoughts play in other youthful heads
a changeling changing into something human
crazy is the bond
and bi is the polar distortions
making the chatter become clear
resonating the morbid truth
we are all changelings here.
Jesus Freaks Or Queers
Wandering back through the years
all my friends
turned out o be Jesus freaks or queers
In between the dope and the cold beer
broken hearts and jagged fear
those that made it out alive
buried their sorrow in sour compromise
giving up and giving in to survive
and all my friends
wandering back through the years
turned out to be Jesus freaks or queers.
We drank to forget and smoked to remember
weathered the cold from January to December
Each new day another taste
loosing hope and saving face.
Saturday nights lost or misplaced
wondering how we made it home alive
and now its oh so clear
why
all my friend turned out to be
Jesus freaks or queers.
Summer Of The Serpent Queen
Summer’s sweet smells wafting on steamy breaths
of lazy winds turning the green leaves slowly.
Country childhood barefoot freedom carries
the lad beneath the small black cherry tree
picking of the delights one by one,
suddenly feeling he’s not alone.
Something deadly lurking in the leafy shade
hear the hissing turning him to stone.
She, the mother of all snakes, with a deadly rattle
engaged in copulation with another of her kind
bites the boy between the eyes
stumbling off he falls half blind.
See the female snake change rearrange
a form of evil intent smiling in the shadows
The calm summer day turns dark,
the earth splits open, sulfur fumes flows
out into the air choking the frightened boy
tears of pain running from his swelling face
turning blue seeing but not believing
the woman walking out of the shadow with such grace.
She kneels beside him taking his trembling hand
whispering into his ear with a hiss.
“You have been marked dear boy
to survive you must take my heated kiss.
My bite is bitter and deadly,
my venom works fast
you have a choice to make
if you want to last
out this dark day.
“Anything to make this pain go away
Please dear lady save me today,”
screamed out the terrified boy,
just became the Serpent Queen’s toy.
She knelt before him
taking his face in her hand
pulling him close to her bosom
and as he suckled he came to understand
her milk was sweeter
than any sugar or spice
and his once pure soul evaporated
in the luxurious ecstasy twice as nice
as anything he’d ever known,
a place few have been,
a place none would want to go,
into the dimension of forbidden sin.
The world swirled into chaos
his life crossed over into darkness.
She guided him through the demons
reveling in her magical caress.
She gave of her luscious body
he ransomed his innocent youth.
Not a thought passed through his mind
if it was real, and he needed little proof.
Sinking into his skin the fangs of death
felt like a thousand points of light
sending sweet sensations through his body
his mind void dancing in delight,
but there is always a price to pay
and in his fantasy he forgot to ask
the queen what the pleasure would demand.
Soon her cold heart would put his soul to the task.
She took his hand
led him into the deepest blackness.
She told him there was a choice to be made
his soul to forever feel her caress
or go back to live and grow old.
Knowing pleasures no man would feel
or to suffer the stark depravity of mortal life
knowing each pleasure and breath is meant to kill.
He thought of her body seductive and sweet
he thought thoughts of forever bliss
and then he remembered the summer's heat
and the morning dew’s sweet kiss.
He traded forever’s happiness
for the normal life leading to certain death.
He enjoyed it ever so briefly,
at 16 turning to crystal-meth
O.D. on heroin by mistake and died
only the Serpent Queen cried.
No one else noticed his passing light
as they all ran from the rain to get high.
Mortals know not the complexities of the soul
they judge life all so seriously
if only they would learn to live
and let the ambiguous night be
their perpetual dream
realizing everything else
is but a sorcerers scheme.
This is a sample of my work, hope you like it my friends.

Funny how a son and a daughter can have the same parents
Yet experience them in such totally different ways.
The daughter wished she had never been born
Not the same as wishing she was dead
There are worse things than death I believe
So she had a son of her own
And now she grieves
Twenty two and he lives a dangerous life
If the “glass” does not kill him he may survive.
If he does not survive his head up his ass twenties
It will be the end of his mother too.
I watch, because every attempt I make to help
Seems to make matters worse.
All I can do is pray for a hearing heart
Observe and change myself
And have compassion for his suffering
I am very old and I have embraced the spider not the snake
But the older I get the better it is
If I can live a few more years I am sure I can echo blind Oedipus and say
All is well
Good poem, a lot of changes
Reminds me of a dream I had after eating a funky mushroom omelet
Serpent Goddess in blue
I was chilled to the bone
Hello and Good bye and welcome
Let me introduce myself
I am a zero hero whose life mission is to stamp out zero replies. , I just wanted to welocme you here. I can't understand it, usually when someone makes their first post people line up just to welcome them aboard. I think you will have a lot of fun here if you can overcome your shyness. Here is a little diddy by a trashy texas troubador. Your poem brought to my mind
"Spent seven long days and seven hard nights
In a sixty-two Chevy, the broke tail lights
An east bound man in a west bound lane
A dish-water blond about sixteen
Was standin’ on the shoulder with a ribbon in her hair
Her hand on her hip and her thumb in the air
I pulled off the road as she grabbed for the door
I knew the wind was cold ‘cause I’d seen it all before
And I was scared
Things ain’t never what they seem
When you found you livin’ in your own dream.
The moonlight peeped in behind the clouds
Now and again on this godless child
The radio was scrambled, cracklin’ in the air
The ribbon she wore looked old in her hair
I saw the moonlight sliver dead on her face
I knew it was true she was in the wrong place
In the wrong time, in the wrong tale
I knew when I’d ask her she’d hiss Christabel
Things ain’t never what they seem
When you found you livin’ in your own dream.
She was after the man who left her alone
No father beside her, her love long time gone
And a snake deep inside her a hiss in her head
The rest that had been her was dying or dead
She’d a taste for young women with pearly white skin
she spat on the floor when she spoke of the man
who made her like this who had written her tale
this medieval maid they called Christabel
Things ain’t never what they seem
When you found you livin’ in your own dream.
Then she breathed out the story of her lover to be
A knight’s shiny armor on a silvery steed
Who longed to be worthy so sought the crusade
While she waited breath bated in linen brocade
But a pair of black eyes wove round her a spell
The snake they called Lydia seduced Christabel
She cuddled her tender and poisoned her soul
She stole her young body and made it her own.
Things ain’t never what they seem
When you found you livin’ in your own dream.
Now the knight would love Lydia in Christabel’s arms
And Lydia would have him should they ever return
But Lydia was left with the story undone
No silvery steed, no castle, no throne
Half woman, half serpent, entwined in a spell
A bard’s blackened fancy this medieval tale
And she faded at dawning to burden the beast
Deep in the dream of those bound for the east
Like me"
Song by Robert Earl Keen based on a
Medieval Legend, twelfth century France I believe

StillT- We welcomed iblieve when he joined in on our jam.
I, too, think these poems should have gotten more replies.
Thing is, sometimes when there's so much to digest, it's hard to think of how to reply.... for me, anyway.
iblieve - that was a lot of poetry you shared! Thank you! I enjoy your writing. You always are so rhythmic... your meter makes my heart beat faster. *smile*
I think we're supposed to do the next Jam this coming friday at the Scroll this time. I need to email and check with thom to see if we're still on. I'll make an announcement once I find out. That's great that you are planning to announce the jams on your forums! Thank you! I have to find some time to stop by there and look around and post some.
Glad you're here when you have the time!
After that, we have a Jam here on the 24th - 25th.... then the following weekend, we plan on doing an online improv play. If you're interested in that, check the General Discussions board. There's a thread up top about it. We need more people to commit to doing this...... otherwise, it's not going to work well, I don't think.
