Nutritional Value Of Truth (and its scarcity)

Is truth edible
and if so would it be nourishing?
I have grown very pale
and slim
off of the fabricated truths of the day.
You know the ones we all swallow
like we have a voice
that is heard
we vote to elect our presidents
if we agree with the electoral college.
We Americans are the good guys
and never are we the aggressor
without reason
but sometime reason is a two edged sword
and it all depends on whose getting cut.
We swore there were
weapon of mass destruction
and then did massive destruction
to find them
only to come up empty handed
well except for
all the innocent fucking blood on them.

We get a body count daily
of our soldiers killed
how about the Iraqis
are they not people too?
Oh they worship Allah
they must be heathens.
Wait isn’t Allah just another name for God
worshipped by all the masses in America?
Black masses aren’t as blood thirsty,
they only sacrifice one person per meeting
we sacrifice thousands
in the name of the All Mighty Oil-lah

We have a constitution that says
if we aren’t served by the government
its our duty to tear it down.
I got a fucking hammer
made of words and anger
anyone care to help me.
We could build a new republic in its place
with liberty and justice for all!!!
Wait again
that’s what they said the first time
and the Who said
“We won’t be fooled again”
but they were British.
Still Blair was fooled
and foolish
now called a fucking fool
by his countrymen

So back to my question,
is truth edible?
Probably so
but just like everything else
its full of fillers
and not exactly what it claims to be.
The lies are the preservatives
worse than the shit we eat
causing all the illness
mental and otherwise.
SO I’m just as well fed
if I’d sit down and eat
a nice warm pile of shit,
it probably wouldn’t be as poisonous
or stink as much
as the shit I‘m fed daily
by this government.

are you saying that truth is impossible to find. I don't think it is out there. I think it is beyond us to be truthful completly.

Oh the truth is out there but finding and seperating it from all the bullshit is another thing, what is one person's truth is another person's lie. I guess in reality the only truth that counts is spiritual truth and to waste time searching for any other truths is, well, a waste of time. Thanks for the reply my friend.

NOt like the entire thing wasn't potent, but the ending really finished it all off quite nicely - and powerfully, I might add.

I hear your cry.

No e-dog you missed it by a mile try a smart assed southern accent spoken by someone who knows what an asshole bush and his republican good ol' boys really are and after reading your reply naivety is contagious.

AQ good to see you here it is a nice site to post and interact.

"naivety is contagious"

i wonder what that means?

It means we see things different and in that we are both naive. When we communicate we seem to infect each other with our lack of understanding of the other‘s views.

Thanks for reading me though and comemnting I do appreciate it. "C"

Your freedom of speech is shining in this one, dear. I love it when you get off on these rants. You have such a strong voice of opinion which I have always admired. There is always much truth in your words. I've never been inspired to write politically about the wrongs being done by the government and the deceptions that the american people are fed daily but I love reading you express it. Great, great, great read.

not that it much matters to get things strait, but

what exactly do you feel we have different views about? (i'm sure we do have diferent views on a lot of things, bt so far all we have disagreed about is the best accent with which to attribute to the poem's narrator.)
