Hurting Myself

Post by iblieve » July 14th, 2005, 8:01 pm

“Are you hurting,?” she asked, without emotion.
“Get over it, it’s wasted devotion.
Love is fleeting, intangible as a fading thought.
Hoping for forever is dreaming for naught.”

Years dissolved into my present reality,
her words burned deep into me
lingering like smoke upon the wind,
truths from a liar, a stain upon my skin.

We accept fantasy quickly if its what we want to hear
but won’t swallow the truth if touches our fear.
We think it wrong to hurt anyone at all,
but what’s wrong with the truth if it stops the fall.

I look at her through different eyes
admittedly taken by surprise
that I could understand her uncaring ways ,
and discard the fantasies from yesterdays.

In my mind I see her turn to someone new,
and promise forever to be true,
but now I smile and hope he took it well
when she broke her magical spell

I wish her the stars to light her nights.
I wish her days to lead her to delight.
I pray she loves with all her might
when she stumbles onto Mr. Right,
and somewhere inside my mind I’ll still regret
that it wasn’t me the first time we met.

bravely good, rich stuff.

I dug the whole thing but that part really jumped out at me. Sounds like Nietzsche"

"I did not mean to be unkind
that was the last thing on me mind"

"A purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved."

She was a married woman with two children. One day in ocean city she met a hippie selling candles on the beach. She looked into his eyes and saw herself. She knew he was her soulmate. But she was married with two children, living on the beach was not an option. tHe hippie never lied to her for her love. She went back to her cheating lying husband. The story has a happy ending. It just takes time.

emotions chipped outta stone
can leave one feeling all alone
but the treasure that soon remains
will forever change that loss to gains

Nicely done.
