Spare Change in the Boot of a Dream Seeking the Soul

Post by mtmynd » July 23rd, 2005, 9:46 pm

spare change in the boot of a dream seeking the soul

i swan across a pool of buffalo
reaching out to a coastal dream...
the clouds were very european
but the weather smelled adieu,
17 palms held out for directions,
feed the hunger before it eats you...

night darkens in satanic hues
while trains steal cattle on the run,
desperados on horses chase the steam,
i could be a big star on gunsmoke
but it's wrapped in oiled cloth
put on shelves for eyes yet born.

a horn across the reflections
wet with her liquid fires
summon schools of fishy angels
attracted to the nectars
as i stand before cast shadows
dressed in imported confetti
from the mainland of china.

high on a cliff looking south.
searching for a dive,
finding a muffdive,
to dive with me
trying to survive
stay alive...
death
is no
change

i was blown away by every word and the ending "death is no change" solidified its message, which is ambiguous but makes it even better because we can put our own experiences into it. "C"

Yeah I like this one too, it's very mysterious and not at the same time.....

"pool of buffalo"
"weather smelled adieu"
"feed the hunger before it eats you"...

man, this thing is full of excellent stuff Cec.

The last verse made me think of florida!
It looks, literally, like florida....
it trails off into the sea...like florida.....
a questionable election quality to it, like florida.......

nice work
