I believe in her face

Post by stilltrucking » August 8th, 2005, 8:26 pm

My heart is like a cash register
Not these plastic electronic contraptions
but a vintage 1928 NCR bronze job
Mechanical, punch down a key and up pops a no sale
Image
but for me those those little no sale signs come up with a woman's face.

The first one I remember falling for was the Jewess in Ivanhoe, then Zooey in the salinger novel
than Sylvia
Anne Sexton so beautiful intelligence in that face
today up popped a new face

I should have worn a welder's face mask
to protect me from the light
her face burned a hole into my retina
an after image that won't go away
like staring at the sun too long

unedited unread spontaneous gibberish
depending on how bad it reads I may have to do a hell of lot of editing.
I am like the bear in the Pogo comic strip, some days I have aphasia, I can write but not read

Bizarre is the word alright

I don't know what that was, glad you were amused but I have no idea, did not think about the money aspect, I was just thinking how Stochastic it is
just random, another face another sale

another fool with a hungry heart

I can see the allusion to a cash register pop up no sale sign, very damn good I think and I use to see them all the time til I went and picked me a fucking dandylion, lmao. I love the rawness of your poetry because love and life are raw and rough so keep on truckin with your bad self. Yoru friend iblieve
