Retreat Journal Excerpts....

Post by Artguy » August 20th, 2005, 11:56 am

It's a long road that gets longer as it goes driving rain driving truck shook by winds lightning lighting the evening way this eastward highway relentless ...

It is 9am and time for my little truck and I to amble east through south shore Montreal traffic down pot holed # 10 through eastern township ski country familiar round topped mountains through misty skies Bromont...Orford where the highway steepens curves trucks with heavy loads strain to make the top....rocky road sides appear ancient faces gazing from weathered facades....Dylan sings me a song...

South on 55 through Magog thinking of Mordeai (Richler) lived and wrote words of Jewish ragmen & 3rd period hockey final....

My anticipation of steel eyed interrogation disappointed as the almost grandfather protector of Homeland Security asked a few compulsory questions...enjoy your trip...I have lost my appearance of international threat...now just a paunch bellied working stiff on his dharma path...southward to Vermont & retreat...

More to come....

Artguy...I will be watching and listening. A retreat is a treat again.
Freedom's just another word...

"steel eyed interrogation"....

Oh my. (this place will never be the same)...

I like the meandering flow of these notes.... gives a sense of immediacy.

I wish I could drink and drive

I can hold my liquor

it's my pee I can't hold

I got into the rhythm, a sort of Norther Exposure riff
