I, II, III

I

Falling,
crashlanding,
flopless,
on ground.
I am afraid
to come to.
Grief roars,
wild scream,
breaks glass.

II
Nightmares
drip through cracks
in my birthwalls.
I ride life fast
to stop the
overflow
in inertia's tracks,
suspended,
between
prides,
prejudices,
a fungus
on my own
private mushroom,
where I know nothing,
nor will I ever,
be forgotten.

III
Blue sky
long time no see.
Sunshine
don't cut it
on dirty waters.
Neck deep nooses,
glide in slow motion,
eyes burn out
like stars falling.
Hope,
clad in
ridiculous
fig leaf
uniforms,
guards our
awol garden,
riddled with weeds,
surrounded by
whitewashed fence.
We sit on it,
like bulls eye targets,
inanimates for
the elite,
our only hope
of survival,
is outnumbering
the snakes
disguised
as Gods.

love this!--

"Hope,
clad in
ridiculous
fig leaf
uniforms"

powerful image--not only to show the image, but to name it ridiculous.

OK--and as an add-on, I like this way of reading it too--

'hope-clad in ridiculous fig leaf uniforms'

Thank you Joel, very much.
And yes I heartily agree with the add on.
Grand idea, love it, thank you for that too.....

I feel that intensity...
the longsuffering despair
the powerless left for dead
the cries of the voiceless
never heard.

All I've got right now is: WOW...I'll let it marinade for a moment and see if I can come up with something more...

(a few minutes later)

Ok, I'm floored.
This is beautiful writing. It begs for a proper title!

(a few more minutes later)

There is an excellent chance I'm wrong here. I, II, III just might be the perfect title.

Dear Hester:

"II and III" are so strong, "I" doesn't seem to belong in their company-- seems a tiny set of drifting platitudes, like scarves escaped from the waist of a belly dancer.

The epithets to go with their nouns in II and III are powerful, my lady!

Thanks you all for your reactions...I really appreciate it, really do.

You see, I've felt so absolutely worn out these past several weeks, as if I were empty, bottomlessly empty of anything at all yet still draining.

Then this came.

I like the way you put that about the I Zlatko, because it was just like scarves dropping off....like a veil lifting, prior to the belly rumbling.

Slowly I am resurfacing.
Very.....................................................slowly....
I feel banged up and angry alot these days. I lay low so as not to inflict myself on others much.
Heh.

All this sadness, despair...
it does brew up a gut level of huge love in me, for all of us.....
Thanks again for being here...
