When I set off on pilgrimage,
was it for hope or self I went?
When I set off on pilgrimage
I thought I was intelligent
to seek some holy heaven-sent.
I thought that I was competent
when I set off on pilgrimage.
Was it for hope or self I went?

***

Acrobatic, you hanged and you swung
with a nonchalant carelessness flung
from your glance, Poet Eyes;
what romance of surprise
could despise the demise it had sung?

***

Patty-cake till my hands, clapped and raw,
made a frame for O Wonder I saw—
paint-stroke brush of that star
the horizon by far
rebirthed joy in the drop of my jaw.

Fabulous, all three.
