one day i walked outside and there were two babies
i named them after my sons
things went awry that summer
i couldnt afford to feed them
so i butchered three
ben, the father, the bull, the man, taught me to love again
and even though we did ceremony, and all kinds of good things happened to honor Ben, the greatest give a way
i cried like a small child
went into a deep depression
and couldnt seem to find my heart
until it went into the Sundance tree
I was crying, having a talk with my grandmother
who died last year
and I found my heart
yesterday mamasitas and Bens children
went to live in eastern Oregon
with a beautiful man
loaded them up in a trailor
and drove away
they were so tame
jess used to come to the front door and get nutter butter cookies
drink molasses from a jar out of my hand
Sundance, Primo and Jess went away
which saved thier lives
from mean ole ms hoppala
and the columbia county animal control people
i feel releived
being a buffalo mama has its downfalls
you have to be home alot
freedom is kind of like letting go
i am so grateful
that I am going to plant lavender in buffalo earth
going to dream happy dreams
sleep with my dog
and pet my cat
and know that i did the right thing
4000 acres and buffalo bulls to play with
i bet they are laughing now!
ever seen a buffalo smile?
well i think it might be time for you to see it
when i did not feel well
they would sleep in a circle under my window
when i needed to talk they seemed to hear me
i will sleep tonight dreaming that
i am a buffalo
free to roam this earth
buffalo dreams

Re: buffalo dreams
i would love to 'hear it'- do it doreen
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
