I only have

I only have so many words
to weave for package ribbon ties—
for garden yards of ribbon words,
what flowers have such poems bloomed?

Would you react to in-the-box
if in the box simplicity
was all you had to find? But if
its box was Fabergé and tied

with bouquet ribbons, garden words
and lovely truths mistrusted to
the mind and tongue and hand alone
(mistrusted to my common self),

would such a presentation sway
the value you might give the gift?—
then tell me simply what would sway
and when I ought present my love.

I'll take simplicity
anytime
over faberge` type
turpentine,
and sir,
if I may be so bold,
truth glitters
mongst your words,
ties glorious ribbons,
round my soul......

Really nice Joel. I love the feel of this, the way it reads, there's this tone...I dunno. I just really dig this Joel....
